We have the potential for some severe weather during the next 48 hours; our Emergency Management would like to remind everyone that:
⚠️ Buffalo County Outdoor Warning Siren Reminder ⚠️
Buffalo County’s outdoor warning sirens are designed to alert residents who are outdoors of imminent severe weather threats. During a Severe Thunderstorm Warning, sirens will only sound in the areas of the county that are directly affected by the warning polygon issued by the National Weather Service.
Please remember:
🔹 Outdoor warning sirens are intended to alert people outside, not serve as an indoor notification system.
🔹 If you hear a siren, seek shelter immediately and monitor trusted weather sources for updated information.
🔹 When the sirens stop sounding, it does NOT mean there is an “all clear.” Severe weather may still be occurring, or additional warnings may be issued.
🔹 Use your best judgment when deciding when it is safe to leave shelter. Continue monitoring weather alerts, radar, and local emergency information.
