History-as-it-happens

The Viking statue in the front of the Great River Lodge (formerly The Viking Motel) is getting a facelift this week. The crew started yesterday with a power wash and is filling in holes in preparation for a new coat of paint. Rather than keeping its original colors, it’s being painted bronze. I will update this post with more photos throughout the week. The crew expects to have it primed tomorrow and fully completed by Thursday. *updated 8-18-24 painting was completed today after rain delays. What do you think?
