The City of Buellton, in conjuction with the Santa Barbara County Animal Care Foundation, has purchased and installed five Pet Microchip Readers. The readers are available 24/7 and allow users to read the identification code of a microchipped animal. This code can then be entered into a pet microchip registry to obtain the contact information for the pet's owner. Instructions for use are found at the microchip station.

Stations have been installed at River View Park, Village Park, Oak Park, PAWS Park, and the SYV Humane Society office located at 111 Commerce Drive in Buellton.
