DARE Donation

Bucyrus Elks Lodge #156 made a generous donation to the D.A.R.E. program. The D.A.R.E. Program provides our deputies with an opportunity to build positive relationships with students, encourage good decision-making, and help our youth understand the importance of making safe and responsible choices.
The D.A.R.E. program serves several schools in Crawford County, including:
Colonel Crawford Wynford
Buckeye Central Crestline
Galion Bucyrus
Sacred Heart School Saint Joseph Catholic School in Crestline

On 08/14/2026, the Sheriff's Office is announcing the retirement of K-9 Nora, after six years of dedicated service to our community.

Nora was imported from the Netherlands and joined the Sheriff's Office in 2020. Over her career, she played a vital role in detecting illegal narcotics, conducting searches and assisting deputies to keep our county safe.

Beyond her tactical capabilities, Nora is a loved member of this office. She could often be found in an office, laying on her back, waiting on a belly rub.

Sheriff Scott Kent and staff of the Sheriff's Office extend our gratitude to Nora for her bravery and hard work over the years.
Nora, Thank you for your service to Crawford County. We wish you a long, happy retirement.
