The Pierce County Auditor is warning people about fraudulent passport service websites that often pop up in online searches and look official. However, they are set up to take your money and personal information, according to this Consumer Alert from the Federal Trade Commission: https://consumer.ftc.gov/consumer-alerts/2024/07/avoid-scam-websites-offer-help-you-get-or-renew-your-passport

How to avoid getting scammed:

o Use the Travel.State.gov website. Do not use a .com or .org site.
o The forms to renew or apply for a passport are free. There is a charge to get a passport itself, and there is a charge to expedite it, but the forms are free. Do not pay a third party for forms.

o It’s free to set up an appointment to get a passport. Do not pay a third-party to get an appointment or expedite a passport. It will not work.

The City of Buckley is a full-service passport acceptance facility.

Pump track construction officially starts this week!

Built and funded by Pedals For The People in partnership with the City of Buckley, the new asphalt track will feature rolling berms, and a flowing riding loop designed for pedal bikes, scooters, and riding for all ages.

During construction, Jefferson Ave between the Foothills Trail and the river will be closed for site access. Trailhead parking will remain open. This section of road will stay closed through the project. Tentatively this closure will be through July 3, 2026.

Thanks for your patience as this exciting new addition takes shape!
