Join I’m an Alzie for a 60s & 70s dance on Saturday, April 11th in the AZT Ballroom. The bar will open at 5pm and the band will start at 6pm 🎶

The net proceeds of this event will go towards our non profit missions. Thank you for your support! And thanks for dancing with us!! 💃

Starting my day in my office a great way to start. I’ll be working on last minute tasks for our next event on April 11th at 5 o’clock. It’s a fundraiser at the AZT ballroom.

“My wife is eight years into her diagnosis of MCI which has progressed to mild stage Alzheimer’s. She is considered high functioning and since connecting with the I’m An Alzie’ Organization that has become very apparent. My wife is a talented artist, as well as being skilled in other crafts, like slow stitch and making journals, among other things. She has started teaching art classes at one of the activities sponsored by the Organization. That activity seems to have given her a sense of purpose as she deals with her condition. She is able to plan out activities for participants and provide them with the guidance they need successfully complete their projects. The Organization allows her talents to shine through in spite of her condition.

🪴 I’m an Alzie Definitions:
Alzie, n: a high functioning individual who has been diagnosed with some form of dementia, but continues to lead a normal life with the support of their Pilots and Co-Pilots.

✈️ 🩵 Pilot: primary caretaker for the Alzie. They are there to help with daily life tasks that may become challenging such as meal prep. Often is a significant other.

🥰 Co-pilot: secondary caretakers that help out from time to time.

Shoutout to everyone that helps out their Alzie! We love & so appreciate you. Thanks for helping Alzies thrive!
