Buckeye Skate Park begins renovations

The Buckeye Skate Park in downtown Buckeye will temporarily close for renovations. The original equipment was installed in 2005 and has reached its useful lifespan.

The renovations are part of the city’s 5-year Capital Improvement Program and include installing state-of-the-art riding surfaces, trick ramps and rails. The overall park improvements are estimated to cost approximately $90,000.

This is the only skate park in Buckeye and is very popular in the skating community.

Renovations are expected to be completed in mid-December. Buckeye’s Skate Park in located in downtown Buckeye at 9th Street and Monroe.

Buckeye opening second location for Water Utility Billing & Customer Service

Buckeye’s Water Resources Utility Billing and Customer Service office is opening a second location at Sundance Crossings, 21749 W. Yuma Road on Dec. 10. (On the southwest corner of Yuma and Dean roads.) This location will provide the same great services as the downtown location, but in the center of the city.

Buckeye residents will still be able to start or stop their water, sewer and trash services, make a payment in person, or speak to a Customer Service Representative about their account at this location.

“As the fifth fastest growing city in Arizona, this second location will help us meet the needs of our customers,” said Michael D. Weber, Buckeye’s Water Resources Director. “It also gives our residents the opportunity to conduct city business closer to home.”

Buckeye’s Water Resources provides reliable water and wastewater service 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year to more than 25,000 accounts. On average, the department produces 5.8 million gallons of water each day to more than 70,000 residents.
