Goodbyes are never easy, especially the bittersweet ones. Our Battalion CSM McCoy is off to bigger and better things but we’ll always be grateful for his dedicated leadership and steadfast service to the 492nd.

Congratulations to our very own SGT Colon for graduating from Air Assault School earlier this month! It's always inspiring to see our soldiers take on incredible opportunities like this at the 492.

Today the command team from 492 Civil Affairs Battalion joined the Buckeye Community in celebrating the 100th birthday of a World War II veteran, SGT George Cross, who parachuted into Normandy as a member of the 82nd Airborne Division on the 5th of June (1 day prior to D-Day) and also fought in the Battle of the Bulge. It was an amazing event to honor an incredible soldier.

LTC Langerud recognized SGT Cross with a Command Challenge Coin and CSM McCoy presented him with an American Flag that had been flown over the Bob Stumps Reserve Center the day prior in his honor.

492 is honored to be asked by the community to participate in recognizing and celebrating the service of a great American.
