Join the Lake Buchanan/Inks Lake Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center as we celebrate our local farmer's and vendor's market, Lakeside Farmer’s Market on Sunday, September 20th for the Lakeside Farmer's and Vendor's Market Ribbon Cutting Celebration at 12 noon!!

The Market will have 20 vendors that day! So come out, shop local, support local, and stay for the Ribbon Cutting, live music and celebration as we step into fall!! Light bites and non-alcoholic beverages are available. Step into Buchanan Brewing Company to purchase and enjoy their amazing craft beers, and more! The Market is open from 11 AM to 3 PM and there will be live music after the Ribbon Cutting. So plan to make a day of if with the Chamber and our local market and vendors!

Lakeside Farmers Market is located on the property of Buchanan Brewing Company at 2938 RR 261 in Buchanan Dam! Look for the Buchanan Brewing Company sign almost straight across from the intersection of RR 1431 and RR 261 and drive through the gate. Parking is marked and walk towards the lake to enjoy the Market! See you there!

Welcome, new Chamber member, Fuzzy's Corner Bar!!! We are SO excited for the return of a Buchanan Dam favorite! Fuzzy's Corner has been at the corner of 1431 and Highway 29 since the early 1970s. The name came from original owner, John Thomas "Fuzzy" Walker. Fuzzy's Corner Bar is a little bar with a big history. Local lore has it, that for a long time, Fuzzy’s had the only working public telephone in the area. For that reason and many others, Fuzzy's has been a Lake Buchanan gathering place for as long as the locals can remember and we are so excited that the George's are bringing it back! Enjoy bottle beer, games, darts, and of course, the return of shuffleboard!

Join us in welcoming them at their GRAND OPENING on Saturday, September 19th from 12 noon to midnight! And stay tuned for their ribbon cutting in October!!! More on that SOON!

We had a wonderful time celebrating Buchanan Art Gallery last night! Our amazing Buchanan Art Gallery Board of Directors and members provided wonderful food and we were surrounded by beautiful art in their newly renovated building! The Lake Buchanan/Inks Lake Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center is so thankful, grateful and blessed by the beautiful bestowment of a First Edition Buchanan Arts & Crafts Hodge Podge to the Buchanan Dam Museum for preservation and enjoyment by all who visit us at the Visitor Center.

Join us tonight for Buchanan Art Gallery Ribbon Cutting and Celebration !!! The fun kicks off at 6 PM for social gathering and networking, followed by a presentation by Buchanan Art Gallery and the Lake Buchanan/Inks Lake Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center!

Buchanan Art Gallery will then present an amazing donation to the Buchanan Dam Museum followed by a ribbon cutting and more relationship building time over light bites and drinks. It's an amazing evening celebrating our local history and moving forward into the next phase together! We hope to see you there.

It's Wandering Wednesday answer time... and YES! this drawing is of Buchanan Art Gallery, formerly Buchanan Arts & Crafts! Learn more about the history of Buchanan Art Gallery, the plans for their renovated space and MORE tonight at 6 PM at the Buchanan Art Gallery Ribbon Cutting and Celebration !!! Fun facts about the BAG building... With a record of perseverance and a small down payment, their current building was purchased in October of 1963. These hard working ladies, and a few gentlemen, continued giving art classes, hosting annual festivals, like the Bluebonnet Trail and Fall Festival - the original Bluebonnet Festival - held right here in Buchanan Dam. The gallery incorporated as a nonprofit and opened their doors at their present location in 1967. It was also 1967 that Lady Bird Johnson, first Lady of the United States became an honorary member. 1968 was a huge year for Buchanan Arts & Crafts with over 10,000 visitors. With sales and local attention increasing, the artists turned their attention to paying off their building and providing additional art classes to the community.

Buchanan Art Gallery shares a commitment to the community with the Lake Buchanan/Inks Lake Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center and is one of amazing partners and members. Our goal is to bring back 10,000 plus visitors to the area enjoying the beauty of our lakes AND the wonderful treasures our member businesses bring to the community. Want to know more? They serve 9 counties around the Austin, TX capital area, including Burnet, and a new office in Llano! It's Wednesday, so you know what that means... it is time to WANDER our trade territory. This week, we dipped into a little of our area's history and found this amazing sketch in a book. Bonus points if you've paid attention this week and can name the building AND the book... (huge hint, y'all!). This building was constructed in the late 60s as a dedicated facility for a local non-profit. This building remains an active space for the same non-profit today!

Buchanan Art Gallery is more than just a local art gallery although it is a wonderful space to drop in, peruse and purchase the talented work of our local artists!! The gallery is open every Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm, Sundays 1 to 4 pm, and Mondays 10 am to 4 pm. Clay Club meets on Mondays from 5:30pm to 8:30pm, Tuesdays from 4:00pm to 7:00pm and on Wednesdays from 9:00am to noon at the gallery. You can register online for the times that work best for your schedule if working with clay is something you're interested in or that feeds your soul!

Additional upcoming classes includes Esther Jones' Beginner Pastel Painting this Saturday, September 5th starting at 2 pm, Betty Bielser's Watercolor Fall Workshop beginning on September 10th from 12:30 pm to 4 pm and continuing through December! September 17th sign up for the next Red Easel Art Project: Art with Friends. September 26th, Evelyn Acosta-Cone is teaching a Watercolor Workshop on painting the Blue Heron. It's a wonderful month of art classes for all ages at Buchanan Art Gallery.
