☀️ It’s another scorcher, Bryan—let’s beat the peak!

With high temperatures driving up regional electricity demand, BMU is asking customers to voluntarily reduce electric use today from 2–6 p.m.

Peak demand can affect BMU’s transmission and capacity costs for the next year—so using a little less electricity during these critical hours can help keep everyone’s electric bills lower.

A few easy ways to help:

• Turn off unnecessary lights and appliances.
• Raise your thermostat to 78 degrees, if possible.
• Close blinds and drapes to block the sun.
• Delay laundry and dishwashing until after 6 p.m.
• Unplug computers and chargers you aren’t using.

Small changes really do add up. Thank you for helping Bryan beat the peak!

Questions? Call BMU at 419-633-6100.

September is National Preparedness Month.

Severe weather and power outages don’t always give us much warning, so now is a good time to make sure your household is ready.

Do you have emergency supplies? Enough water and food that doesn’t require cooking? A way to stay informed if your phone isn’t available?

Take a look at the checklist and see how prepared you really are.

Throughout September, BMU will be sharing more information to help customers prepare for storms, outages and other emergencies
A little preparation now can make a big difference when you need it.
