Brazos County, City of College Station - Government, City of Bryan - Government, City of Kurten and City of Wixon Valley, TX will participate in a statewide emergency notification drill on Thursday, April 2, from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Brazos County Emergency Management will send a test message to area residents on their mobile devices. The drill is coordinated by the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) in collaboration with local partners, ensuring warning systems are ready for real emergencies.

📍 NO ACTION is required by the public.
📍 If you do not receive the alert, verify that you have enabled Emergency Alerts on your cell phone.

BRAZOS COUNTY…This applies to the City of Wixon Valley as well.

🚨Effective immediately, Brazos County is under a Burn Ban. Commissioners voted to enact the order today (2/24/26) following the recommendations of the Emergency Management Coordinator and all four Emergency Service District fire chiefs. Lower humidity and higher winds contribute to the concern, as well as grasses that froze recently which add fuel to potential fires.
The 60 day order is set to expire April 25th, but can be terminated early by the County Judge, if necessary.
