Next weekend, some of our Special Olympics of Williams County athletes will take a big step into a statewide stage…
And we couldn’t be more proud 🦈🩵.
Summer Games are the State Track and Bocce competitions, where athletes who qualify at Regionals are selected to represent their county alongside athletes from all across Ohio.
Those chosen spend the weekend on the campus of Ohio State University…
Competing, connecting, and showing the strength of dedication, teamwork, and determination.
This year, we are honored to be taking 20 track athletes, one unified bocce team, and 6 coaches!
Our athletes will compete in events ranging from sprints and distance races to relays and field events like long jump, shot put, softball throw, and mini javelin.
One of the most powerful moments happens before competition even begins…
On Friday night, counties from across the state are introduced.
This year, our athletes will run through the tunnel and onto the field at Ohio Stadium, standing proudly as representatives of our community!
Summer Games are about far more than medals.
They are about opportunity, confidence, and being seen for ability, effort, and heart ❤️.
We are so proud of every athlete who will earn their place and every coach who walks beside them.
Our community will be cheering you on every step of the way!
GO SHARKS 🦈 🩵☺️🏃🏼♀️💨🏃🏽♂️!!!!!
