Last Friday, Greater Valdosta United Way President & CEO Michael Smith hit the road to visit five incredible organizations serving our region, bringing gifts and a genuine commitment to building relationships.

Alongside CCGF and the St. Marys Methodist Church Foundation, the group toured:
- Hand in Hand
- Golden Isles Veterans Village (GIVV)
- Safe Harbor’s Village on Ellis
- Salvation Army Red Shield Shelter
- Saved by Grace

But the biggest impact? Showing up, listening, and connecting with the people doing this vital work every day.

We’re excited about what this growing partnership means for Camden, Glynn, and McIntosh counties!

Last week something special happened in Brunswick. At the Dreamers Success Mentorship Program Luncheon — hosted by Roberts Civil Engineering, Communities in Schools of Glynn County, and the Communities of Coastal Georgia Foundation — business leaders from across the Golden Isles gathered with one goal: commit to mentoring the next generation of coastal Georgia leaders.

The most powerful voices in the room? A mentor and his mentee. Three years ago, CCGF President & CEO Keeva Kase met De'Von Rogers — then a freshman, now a rising junior at Glynn Academy — at the CIS Dreamers event at Sea Island. What started as an introduction became one of the most meaningful relationships either of them could describe. Together, they stood before a room full of executives and made the case: your workforce has the power to invest in the young people sitting in classrooms right now.

Congratulations to Hope 1312 Collective who received $15,000 from 100 Men Who Give during their 2nd quarter meeting. This award highlights the impact of collective giving and individuals coming together to support meaningful work in our communities.

Hope 1312 Collective works to support children and families involved in the foster care system by mobilizing community resources, building connections, and creating programs that bring stability, care, and hope to those in difficult circumstances. We’re excited to see how this funding will further their mission.

Giving Circles like 100 Men Who Give show how generosity, when combined, can create real and lasting change.

Join us in celebrating these two incredible organizations and the difference they are making across Coastal Georgia!

This Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their courage and sacrifice have secured the freedoms we enjoy and the communities we cherish.

As we gather with family and friends, we invite you to take a moment to reflect on their legacy and the responsibility we share to care for one another and strengthen the places we call home.

We are grateful, today and every day.

We were honored to host 30 Berry College Bonner Scholars at the Communities of Coastal Georgia Foundation last week as part of their Coastal Georgia service learning experience.

During their visit, our President & CEO shared insights on leadership, the power of philanthropy, and career pathways in the nonprofit sector, along with a meaningful discussion on how our region is responding to the Brantley County fires and supporting long-term recovery.

The Bonner Scholars Program is dedicated to developing students as leaders through community service and civic engagement, and it was a privilege to spend time with such a passionate and purpose-driven group.

Thank you, Berry College Bonner Scholars, for your commitment to service and for choosing to learn and grow alongside our communities. The future is bright because of you!

A huge thank you to , the Community Foundation of South Georgia, and for your support of our community members affected by the fires in Brantley County.

Your partnership is helping provide immediate relief and long-term stability for families who need it most, from safe, temporary housing to the essential resources that will carry them through the months ahead.

Because of this collective effort, families are already finding shelter, and even more support is on the way.

We are grateful to share that the CCGF Board unanimously approved participation in a collaborative grant supporting Emerge Ministries, as they serve families impacted by the recent fires in Brantley County. Thank you to our Board for your strong and swift support in this moment of need.

Friday morning we delivered a portion of the funding, $62,000, directly to Emerge Ministries. In the coming days, 50 RVs and generators will be deployed to support families for the next 12 months, offering stability and a pathway toward recovery.

As we head into the weekend, we’re reminded that together, we are helping our neighbors recover, rebuild, and heal.
