The End of an Era… and the Start of a New One!

After 13 years leading the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce, Brunswick’s own Rick Weldon is officially entering his Retirement Era!

Rick has been a tremendous advocate for Frederick County—and we’re especially grateful for the many ways he has championed Brunswick, supported our businesses, promoted our community, and helped us continue to grow and thrive.

Rick has always understood that great things happen when people work together, and Brunswick is better because he has been in our corner. ❤️

Congratulations, Rick! We hope you enjoy retirement… although, since you live right here in Brunswick, we have a feeling we can find a few ways to put that extra free time to good use. 😉 Volunteers are always welcome!

👻 Think you’re brave enough to investigate one of Brunswick’s historic buildings after dark?

The Brunswick Heritage Museum is giving you the chance to experience something a little different on Saturday, September 12th — a real Paranormal Investigation inside the museum!

This isn’t just watching someone else investigate. Under the guidance of experienced investigators from the Berkeley Paranormal Society, YOU get to conduct the investigation, use paranormal investigative tools, and see what you might discover inside this historic Brunswick building. 👀

And if there’s one thing we know about the Brunswick Heritage Museum, it’s that this building is surrounded by history! The museum is dedicated to preserving and sharing Brunswick’s story, including the B&O Railroad and C&O Canal history that helped shape our town.

The 22nd Annual Milton Frech Jr. Memorial Brunswick Potomac Street Mile is more than a race—it’s a Brunswick tradition honoring the life, service, and lasting legacy of former Brunswick Police Chief Milton Frech Jr.

Chief Frech dedicated so much of his life to serving Brunswick and its residents, and this annual event is a special opportunity for our community to come together in his memory. ❤️

The start of a new school year means more school buses, pedestrians, bicyclists and vehicles on Maryland’s roads. It’s also a good time to brush up on the basics of getting to and from school safely.

How much do you know about back-to-school traffic safety? Test your knowledge below and keep track of your answers. The answer key can be found below the Serious About Safety video spotlight.

A) Maintain your normal speed if no students are visible
