It's a beautiful day at the beach with the SSI Beach Lifeguards. Did you know that we employ 21 seasonal lifeguards on our beaches and every one of our guards is American Red Cross as well as Waterfront certified?

Please, remember to always swim near a lifeguard, they are out there to make sure your summer excursions are fun and safe. When you are done enjoying your day in the sun, please don't forget to keep our beaches clean and discard trash in the proper place.

The 2026 season tips off Friday, June 5 at the Glynn Academy Annex Gym and runs through July 17. All boys and girls in 6th–11th grades are welcome — no matter your skill level.

We are proud to share that our Friday Night Hoops Initiative has been recognized with a 2026 Georgia County Excellence Award by ACCG and Georgia Trend magazine.

This honor highlights innovative, cost‑effective programs that strengthen communities and improve quality of life, and we’re grateful to be one of six counties recognized this year.

Friday Night Hoops provides a safe, positive place for local youth to stay active during the summer.

The free, supervised open‑gym program serves students ages 12–16 and helps reduce risky or unsupervised behavior while building strong relationships between young people and the county departments that support them.

The program continues to grow thanks to the dedication of our staff, volunteers, sponsors, and Glynn County Schools.

The 2026 season kicks off Friday, June 5 at the Glynn Academy Annex Gym and runs through July 17.

🏀 6–8 PM: 6th–8th graders
🏀 8–10 PM: 9th–11th graders

The program is free, open to all skill levels, and includes dinner each night. We’re looking forward to another successful season.
