FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

June 12, 2026 (Brunswick, GA) - On June 9, 2026, the Brunswick Police Department received information regarding an online social media threat directed at an upcoming public event. Upon receiving the information, investigators immediately initiated an investigation into the alleged threat to assess its credibility and ensure public safety.

As a result of the investigation conducted by the Brunswick Police Department Criminal Investigations Division, an arrest was made on June 12, 2026.

The suspect has been identified as 25 year old Christopher Waller of Brunswick, Georgia. Waller has been charged with Terroristic Threats.

The Brunswick Police Department takes threats to public safety seriously and remains committed to thoroughly investigating incidents that may endanger members of the community.

This investigation remains active. Anyone with additional information related to this investigation is encouraged to contact Detective Justin Bradley at (912) 279-2641.

Brunswick Police Department Investigating Homicide on Altama Avenue

May 23, 2026 (Brunswick, GA) - On May 23, 2026, shortly after 1:30 a.m., officers with the Brunswick Police Department responded to the 2700 block of Altama Avenue for a reported shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located a deceased male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Detectives with the Brunswick Police Department Criminal Investigations Division responded to the scene along with agents from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

As a result of the investigation, Jared Williams has been arrested and charged with Murder and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of Certain Crimes.

The identity of the victim is currently being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The Brunswick Police Department is partnering with the Georgia Governor’s Office of Highway Safety and agencies across the state for the national ā€œClick It or Ticketā€ campaign from May 18–31, 2026. šŸ”’

In 2024, 9,758 passenger vehicle occupants killed in crashes were not wearing seat belts.

This campaign serves as reminder that no matter what type of vehicle you drive, one of the safest choices drivers and passengers can make is to buckle up!

Brunswick Police Department Executes Search Warrant in Narcotics Investigation

May 15, 2026 (Brunswick, GA) - On May 14, 2026, the Brunswick Police Department executed a search warrant in the 1800 block of Niles Avenue in furtherance of an ongoing months-long narcotics investigation conducted by the department’s Special Investigations Unit.

As a result of the investigation and subsequent search warrant ex*****on, two individuals were arrested and charged with multiple offenses. Scheduled Prescription Narcotics, Ma*****na, and Co***ne were located in the residence along with fi****ms.

Brandi Simmons, 45, of Brunswick, Georgia, and Darion L. Simmons, 50, of Brunswick, Georgia, were both taken into custody and transported to the Glynn County Detention Center on multiple charges stemming from drug and fi****ms violations.

This investigation remains ongoing. Additional information may be released as it becomes available.
