✂️🍔 Brown County, get ready to cut the ribbon at Grumps Burgers!

The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce is excited to celebrate the recently opened Grumps Burgers in Early with an official ribbon cutting!

The Early location opened its doors this summer and is owned and operated by local couple Eric and Mackenzie Martinez, who brought a restaurant they had loved for years home to the community where they live and are raising their family. The Early location also puts its own local spin on the Grumps experience, with touches celebrating both the Early and Brownwood communities throughout the restaurant.

Of course, there are plenty of burgers to go around! Grumps is known for its fresh, made-to-order burgers, casual family-friendly atmosphere, queso, onion rings, jalapeño ketchup and more 🍔🍟

📅 Tuesday, September 29
⏰ 2:00 PM
📍 215 Early Blvd. | Early, TX

Come out, help us cut the ribbon, meet the team, and celebrate another new business calling our area home! 🎉

Brownwood Community Chorus invites singers to prepare for Handel’s “Messiah”

BROWNWOOD – September 10, 2026 – Singers from throughout the region are invited to join the Brownwood Community Chorus.

Rehearsals begin Monday, Sept. 14, in preparation for a Christmastime performance of Handel’s “Messiah.”

Rehearsals will be held in the choir room in Howard Payne University’s Davidson Music Complex, 106 Whaley St., and will continue each Monday from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

“We welcome singers from the community who enjoy choral music and would like to be part of this special performance,” said Dr. Chris Rosborough ’08, HPU’s director of choral activities and chair of the Department of Music. “Whether you are a longtime choral singer or simply want to experience the joy of singing with others, we invite you to join us Monday night and be part of the Brownwood Community Chorus.”

The chorus will present Handel’s “Messiah” on Dec. 8 with a full orchestra.
