Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice made it possible for us to live, serve, and support the children and families in our community every day.

As we spend time with family and friends this Memorial Day, may we also take a moment to reflect on the courage, selflessness, and dedication of those who never made it home.

From all of us at the Child Welfare Board of Brown County, we remember and honor our fallen heroes. 🇺🇸

Today we were honored to receive a grant from the Women’s Club. Their generosity helps us continue supporting kinship families in Brown County and assists the Rainbow Room in providing essential items for children in need.

Partnerships like this make a meaningful difference in helping keep children safe, supported, and cared for in our community. We are truly grateful for their support and investment in the children and families of Brown County.

Some of the hardest truths about child abuse are the ones people do not want to talk about.

It does not discriminate.
It happens in every socioeconomic level, across every culture, every religion, and every level of education.

And most heartbreaking of all — many children are harmed by someone they know and trust.

Behind every statistic is a child.
A story that deserves to be heard.

Awareness matters because silence allows abuse to continue. Education, prevention, and speaking up can change a child’s future. 💙

Child abuse awareness and prevention doesn’t end when April does. It is something our community must continue to recognize, talk about, and work together to prevent all year long. 💙

If you didn’t get the chance to make it out to our Walk of Knowledge, be sure to follow our page as we continue sharing facts, information, and ways our community can help protect children in Brown County.

While at HPU, they were able to bring out a drone to capture an aerial photo of the display. Take a moment to really zoom in on that picture. Every single pair of shoes you see represents a confirmed case of child abuse in Brown County. Behind every pair is a child, a story, and a reminder of why awareness and prevention matter.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support, advocate, and stand up for the children in our community. 💙

We hope you all have a very happy Mother’s Day from the Child Welfare Board of Brown County! Wishing all the amazing mothers, grandmothers, and mother figures a day filled with love, joy, and appreciation for all that you do. 💐

05/09/2026

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers, grandmothers, foster moms, bonus moms, and mother figures who love, protect, guide, and encourage the children in their lives. 💙

This weekend, we celebrate the quiet sacrifices, the endless support, the comforting hugs, and the strength it takes to show up day after day for the people who need you most. The love and care you give help shape brighter futures and safer childhoods.

To the moms who are thriving, the moms who are doing their best each day, and the moms who continue to give so much of themselves to others — we see you, we appreciate you, and we thank you for the difference you make every single day.

We hope your weekend is filled with love, laughter, appreciation, and reminders of just how important you are.
