🚨✨ Update on Cuffs the Elf! ✨🚨

After a VERY thorough investigation, we can officially confirm the Cuffs the Elf is NOT on the naughty list! He was actually working undercover the whole time! 😮🎄

Cuffs has been quietly gathering intel on all the local mischief makers to help protect the holiday cheer in Brownwood. His undercover mission is now complete, and he has joined our Holiday Task Force, where he will be assisting with seasonal safety, cookie security, and overall Christmas spirit enforcement.

Rest assured: Cuffs is 100% on the GOOD list, and ready to serve! 🎅🚓

Stay tuned for more updates from our smallest (but feistiest) team member!

BROWNWOOD PD TEAMS UP WITH TxDOT TO PREVENT DRUNK
DRIVING CRASHES
December has highest number of drunk driving crashes in Texas

Brownwood — With the holidays just around the corner, TxDOT is launching the Drive Sober. No Regrets. holiday campaign to remind motorists about the dangers of drunk driving. Brownwood PD and law enforcement officers across the state will ramp up efforts to identify and arrest drunk drivers from Dec. 12 through Jan. 1, coinciding with the national heightened enforcement period sponsored by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

December had the highest number of crashes caused by drunk drivers in Texas last year. There were more than 2,000 drunk driving-related crashes during the 2024 holiday season. All of these could have been avoided by taking a sober ride.

Drunk driving crashes are preventable 100% of the time. If you drink any amount of alcohol, do not get behind the wheel. Designate a sober driver, use a rideshare service or taxi, call a sober friend or family member, or use public transit. You can also just stay where you are until you’re sober.

Drive Sober. No Regrets. is an important part of TxDOT’s Drive like a Texan: Kind. Courteous. Safe. initiative. Drive like a Texan is about embracing the pride, camaraderie and responsibility of being a Texan on the road. By making thoughtful choices, we can all help keep each other safe.
