On April 16, 2026, the Brown County Sheriff’s Office held a specialized operation (Operation Spring Cleaning) in the Shamrock Shores and Shaddy Shores area of Lake Brownwood. This operation targeted property abatements that violated the Health and Safety Codes 341 and 343—aimed at cleaning up properties around the lake to ensure a safe, healthy place for everyone to live.

During this operation, eighty-nine (89) properties posed violations. Deputies served forty (40) 30-day notices advising the resident/property owner of the violations. Allowing them this time to rectify the violation before facing legal action. Follow-up on the remaining properties will continue.

There was one Felony Illegal Dump located on the county right of way, which will be cleaned up by Precent 4 employees next week. No arrests have been made at this time; the investigation is ongoing.

This operation was a tremendous success for those communities due to the assistance from Brownwood Police Dispatch, who worked diligently to keep track of calls for service generated by our deputies, Precinct 4 Commissioner Traweek and his employees, who will provide the removal of the dumpsite that was located during this operation, and JP Precinct 4 Judge Perez for his support and understanding in this matter, should it reach his court.

We also want to take this opportunity to recognize the Keep Shamrock Shores Beautiful and the Lake Brownwood Bridge Community Group. If you live in this area and would like to join these groups, you may contact Joanna at (325) 430-4268.
If you see illegal dumping, please report it to the Sheriff’s Office, and remember that April 22nd is Earth Day.
