The Village has received additional FREE at-home COVID-19 test kits. They are available in the Brownville Town Hall outside of the restrooms. No ID or health insurance is needed. The test kits are provided by the Southeast District Health Department.

The Village of Brownville is accepting applications for the part-time position of the village clerk. This position shall perform the requirements as provided by state statutes and village ordinances. The village clerk is responsible for the management of recordkeeping, collection, and depositing of the village funds, licensing, and attendance at municipal meetings, including keeping a journal of proceedings and related follow-up work. The work is performed under the general direction of the Chairman of the Village Board, with the employee exercising independent judgment in the planning and ex*****on of duties. The successful applicant should have general knowledge of bookkeeping, the ability to maintain confidentiality, good organizational skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite products.

Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in public or business administration or a related field is preferred.

The Village of Brownville provides a competitive wage based on experience and qualifications.
