🇺🇸 We Remember. We Honor. We Will Never Forget.

Today, the Cameron County Judge’s Division Office of Emergency Management & Fire Marshal Service joined our community in remembering the lives lost and the heroes who answered the call on and after September 11, 2001.

We are especially grateful to the law enforcement officers, fire departments, veterans, and citizens from across Cameron County who came together to participate in the County’s Remembrance Ceremony.

Their presence is a powerful reminder that the strength of our community is found in the people who stand together, serve one another, and never forget those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Today, we honor the nearly 3,000 lives lost, the first responders who ran toward danger, the families who were forever changed, and the countless heroes who continue to serve our communities every day.

🇺🇸 FINISH THEIR CLIMB CHALLENGE 🇺🇸

Cameron County Emergency Management proudly took part in the Finish Their Climb Challenge, climbing 4 flights of stairs in honor of the 343 FDNY firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001.

We were challenged by the Hidalgo County Office of Emergency Management,and we were honored to answer the call and take part in this meaningful tribute.

Now, Cameron County Emergency Management challenges Willacy County to Finish Their Climb and help carry this tribute forward.

Honor the 343. Honor every fallen firefighter. Never forget. 🇺🇸

Cameron County will host its annual September 11 Remembrance Ceremony on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 10am at the Dancy Courthouse, marking the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks.

🌀 A big thank you to Brownsville Public Utilities Board (BPUB) for hosting our Monthly Hurricane Preparedness Meeting yesterday.

We also extend our appreciation to TRAC-V, the National Weather Service (NWS), and the Lower Rio Grande Valley Development Council (LRGVDC) for taking the time to speak with our attendees and share valuable information, resources, and expertise.

Thank you for keeping Cameron County prepared, informed, and ready throughout hurricane season.🌀

Definitely a Busy Day!

We met with the Red Cross and Community Organizations today during a Tabletop Exercise.

We were able to highlight the importance of their roles before, during and after disaster happens.

A big thank you for all they do.

Participation in Tabletops like such allow us self evaluate, identify our needs, and be better prepared for our community when in need!
