📢 SBA Disaster Assistance Available for Cameron County

Residents, homeowners, renters, businesses, and non-profit organizations affected by the severe storms and tornadoes that occurred between April 24 – May 1, 2026, may be eligible for low-interest disaster loans through the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).

📅 Application Deadlines:
• Physical Damage Loans: July 6, 2026
• Economic Injury Loans (EIDL): February 8, 2027

Although the burn ban has been lifted, the following items remain prohibited from being burned:

🚫 Trash or household garbage
🚫 Tires, plastics, and rubber products
🚫 Treated, painted, or stained wood
🚫 Construction or demolition debris
🚫 Chemicals, oils, batteries, and hazardous materials

✅ Only natural vegetation such as brush, leaves, and tree limbs may be burned in accordance with TCEQ regulations.

Your participation reflects the strong commitment our community has toward preparedness and resilience for the 2026 Hurricane Season.
