🇺🇸 Honoring Those Who Climbed. Remembering Those We Lost.

Today, several of our Brownsville Police Department officers participated in the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at Crunch Fitness, climbing to honor the brave firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice at the World Trade Center towers saving others.

Each step served as a reminder of their courage, selflessness, and unwavering commitment to protecting others even in the face of unimaginable danger.

We climb to remember. We climb to honor. We climb so they are never forgotten. 🇺🇸

🇺🇸 25 Years Later, We Remember.

Today, the Brownsville Police Department honors the lives lost 25 years ago during the September 11 attacks and remembers the countless families, friends, and communities that forever changed that day.

We also honor the police officers, firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, and countless first responders who ran toward unimaginable danger. They answered the call without hesitation, putting the lives of others before their own. Many never made it home, and others carried the physical and emotional scars of that day for years to come. Their courage, sacrifice, and selflessness will never be forgotten.

In the face of tragedy, our nation stood together. September 11, 2001 reminded us of the strength found in unity, compassion, and our commitment to one another.

25 years later, we remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

Stolen Vehicle Recovered; One Arrest Made Following Foot Pursuit

SEPTEMBER 10, 2026
BROWNSVILLE, TX- At approximately 10:54 a.m., Brownsville Police Auto Theft agents located a stolen vehicle in the alleyway between East 21st Street and East 22nd Street. The vehicle had been reported stolen at approximately 4:57 a.m. earlier today.

As officers approached the vehicle, two males who were nearby the vehicle, took off running. One individual was apprehended and arrested. Multiple assisting agencies responded to help search for the other individual, however, he was not located.

Due to the police activity occurring in the area near several schools, the Brownsville Police Department notified BISD as a precaution. The schools temporarily placed their campuses on lockdown/hold while officers conducted the search. Once the search was concluded, the schools lifted the hold and resumed normal operations.

The recovered vehicle was returned to its rightful owner.

The Brownsville Police Department appreciates the assistance of all responding agencies and the cooperation of our school district to ensure the safety of our community.
