The Brownsville Police Department had an awesome time partnering with 7-Eleven/Stripes for Operation Chill! ☀️🍧

This fun summer program gives us the opportunity to connect with our youth in a positive and meaningful way while building relationships within our community. The kids had a blast enjoying free Slurpees, courtesy of 7-Eleven/Stripes, and spending time with our officers.

A special thank you to Area Manager Manuel Martinez for making this opportunity possible and for helping us create memorable experiences for the families we serve.

We have more Operation Chill events planned throughout the summer, so be on the lookout for upcoming dates and locations!🤩

The Brownsville Police Department was honored to attend this week’s Blue Mass at the Basilica of Our Lady of San Juan del Valle, led by Bishop Daniel E. Flores.

We are grateful for a community that keeps our officers in their prayers and supports those who serve. Being prayed over during this special service was a meaningful reminder that we do not stand alone in our mission to protect and serve.

As we received this special blessing, we also pray for all law enforcement officers who risk their lives every day, asking for their safety, strength, and guidance.

Thank you to everyone who keeps our officers and their families in your thoughts and prayers💙🙏🏻

BROWNSVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT ISSUES WARNING ON CREATING AI-GENERATED EXPLICIT IMAGES

Brownsville, TX- The Brownsville Police Department would like to raise awareness about the dangers and consequences of using artificial intelligence (AI) technology to create sexually explicit images without a person’s consent.

On May 27, 2026, the Brownsville Police Department arrested a juvenile who used photographs of female classmates obtained from social media to create sexually explicit images using artificial intelligence technology. The juvenile was charged with 10 counts of Unlawful Production or Distribution of Deep Fake Sexually Explicit Media.

While AI technology can be used for many positive purposes, it can also be misused in ways that cause significant harm to victims. Creating, sharing, or distributing AI-generated sexually explicit images of another person without their consent is illegal and can result in serious criminal consequences. We encourage our community members to be mindful of the images they share online, especially those involving children and teenagers. Once an image is posted publicly, it may be copied, altered, and misused by others.

The Brownsville Police Department recommends that you be cautious when accepting friend or follower requests from strangers and report suspicious or harmful online activity immediately.

Anyone who believes they may be a victim of this type of crime is encouraged to contact the Brownsville Police Department.

Yesterday, the Brownsville Police Department was proud to see an incredible turnout at our Mental Health Walk (the biggest turnout we’ve had yet!)💚

We are grateful to everyone who came out to support mental health awareness and take advantage of the valuable resources available throughout the event. Seeing our community come together to support one another was truly inspiring.

At the Brownsville Police Department, we want everyone to know that you are not alone. There is no shame in asking for help, and there will always be people ready to stand beside you and support you through difficult times. Together, we can continue breaking the stigma surrounding mental health and building a stronger, healthier community.
