Mark your calendars for June 13 and join us at Lower Huron Metropark for the Grand Opening of the new Off-Leash Dog Area from 5–7 p.m.! 🐾

Bring your pup out for an evening packed with tail-wagging fun, including a celebratory tennis ball drop, agility course, dog pools, bubbles, pup cups, photo booth, make & take crafts, a food truck, mocktail bar, and plenty of room to run and play. The first 100 guests to arrive will receive a free mocktail!

📍 Lower Huron Metropark – Off-Leash Dog Area
🎟 FREE event (Metroparks daily or annual vehicle pass required for park entry)

Dogs should remain on a 6-foot leash except within designated off-leash areas. We recommend that pups are up to date on vaccinations and ask all guests to help keep the park clean by picking up after their pets.

A special thank you to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, as this project would not be possible without the support of a grant from the Land and Water Conservation Fund.💚

Come celebrate this exciting new space for dogs and their humans to explore, socialize, and enjoy together!

🏛️ Did you know that before there was an "official" Downriver, there was Brownstown Township? And what's up with the three-part split with Brownstown patched all over the area? 🤔 Keep reading because we have answers to these burning questions!

🎉 We have an entire blog that explains more, and be sure to click the link below for all the details, but one of the biggest highlights is that Brownstown Township will celebrate its 200th birthday in 2027 with bicentennial events planned throughout all three sections of the township. 🥳 For all the artists out there, they are also having a contest to redesign the logo for the Brownstown Historical Society.
