Sometimes the most beautiful part of a sunset isn’t a single view. It’s the way the last light keeps revealing itself, touching the tops of the trees, settling into the clouds, reflecting across the water, and finding the wild flowers.

I almost missed how many small moments were happening at once.

Maybe that’s what Sanity in Nature is really about. Pausing long enough to notice how quickly nature changes right before our eyes. ❤️🌲

When was the last time you stopped to watch a sunset?

Don’t forget to look up! 🍁

We spend so much time looking at what’s right in front of us that sometimes we forget there’s a whole other view overhead.

Blue sky, changing leaves, sunlight finding its way through the branches. Fall has a way of making looking up worth it. ☀️🍂

🍂📷 **Fall Photo Challenge: Day 5**

Sometimes it’s just one leaf.

One little flash of orange among all the browns that makes you stop and take a closer look.

That’s one of my favorite things about being out in nature. You don’t always have to look for the big view. Sometimes the smallest thing is the thing that catches your eye. 🍁

🍂📷 **Fall Photo Challenge: Day 4**

Not everything about fall arrives in a blaze of color.

Sometimes it looks like this.

A summer flower slowly changing, its bright petals fading and curling as the season begins to turn.

It would be easy to walk past and see something dying. But look a little closer. There is still so much color, texture and beauty here.

Summer making way for fall. 🌻🍂

Want to know one of my favorite little bits of fall magic?

Get the sunlight behind the leaves.

Suddenly the color seems to light up from within. The reds get redder, the oranges warmer, and you get this almost HDR kind of color without asking nature to do anything but be nature. 🍁☀️

Sometimes changing where you stand changes everything you see.

What little bit of fall caught your eye today? Drop your photo in the comments or post your own using so I can see what you’re noticing too. 🍂

The weekend is just around the bend. 🍁

Maybe there’s a back road calling your name. A place you haven’t wandered in a while. Or maybe nowhere in particular.

Sometimes you just need to get outside and see where the road takes you. 🌲

If you find a little fall along the way, I'd LOVE to see it!

🍂📷 Fall Photo Challenge: Day 1

I’m giving myself a little challenge for September. One fall photo every day for the rest of the month, and I’d love for you to join me!

Fall can look like a lot of different things, and for me, one of the things I start looking forward to as soon as September rolls around is cranberry harvest season.

This was taken one evening during harvest, with the cranberries floating on the bog and my headlights lighting them up. ❤️

Your photo doesn’t have to be taken today. Pull out an old favorite, grab your phone, take your camera for a walk... just show us something that says fall to you.

Post yours in the comments or share it on your own page using so we can find each other.

Let’s see what fall looks like through everyone else’s eyes. 🍁📷

We have officially entered my FAVORITE season: the “ber” months! 🍂🔥

This is when nature begins showing off. The colors start popping, the air turns crisp, and there is no denying that summer is slowly making way for fall.

Now is the time to start a batch of fire cider, giving all those warming herbs, roots and spices plenty of time to infuse before the colder days arrive. It’s also time for cooler walks, cozy nights around the fire and watching the season change one colorful leaf at a time.

There is so much to savor in the months ahead. What are you most looking forward to? 🌲🍁

Sunset in one direction. The almost full Sturgeon Moon rising in the other. I kept turning, unsure which one deserved my attention. 🌅🌕

After a day that left me needing to recharge, standing there between the two was exactly the reset I needed.

If you missed last night’s sky, here’s a little of its magic. Maybe you needed the pause, too. 🌲
