Earlier this week, the Iik’sook'ksoosik Project teamed up with Browning High School, Buffalo Hide Academy, and Shawn Spruce from First Nations Development Institute. First Nations is recognized as the top-rated American Indian nonprofit in the country. Together, we brought the Spending Frenzy program to more than 150 Blackfeet Nation youth.

The $pending Frenzy financial reality fair, created by First Nations, gives youth who may receive a large Minor’s Trust payment a chance to practice managing a big sum of money and making smart choices. During the simulation, teens receive $30,000 in play money and decide how to spend it on items such as a car, a house, groceries, and more. They also get to visit a mock bank to cash their check, put some money into savings, and learn about investing.

Here are some photos from the event. Thank you to the Blackfeet Child Support staff, Matt Harrington from NACDC Financial Services, and intern for the Iik'sook'ksoosik program, Chelsee Anne, for volunteering to help with the simulation. We also want to give a big thanks to Shawn Spruce, Browning Public Schools: Browning High School, and Buffalo Hide Academy for working with us to bring this valuable program to our future leaders! 👣

🌞 A’sutapi Youth Camp 2025 Recap 🌞
What an incredible week we had at the A’sutapi Youth Camp! Despite a few rainy days at the start, the sun came out and so did the smiles — and we made the most of every single moment. This week was packed with meaningful cultural activities and unforgettable experiences. From traditional hide tanning, beaded bracelets and earrings, and painting mini tipis, to harvesting rocks and transforming them into moccasin art — our youth truly connected with their creativity and culture. We also explored storytelling, sign language, and so much more.Outdoor adventures brought even more excitement with boating, swimming, and the low ropes course. Every activity gave our youth the opportunity to learn, grow, and most importantly — have fun together in a supportive community. This camp is a proud part of the Iiksook’ksooksik (Good Future) Project, created by BCSEP through support from an OCSS Responsible Parenting Grant. The project’s vision is to ensure that young Blackfeet see a good future for themselves — one rooted in cultural identity, responsible parenting practices, and financial literacy. The A’sutapi camp is one powerful step in that direction, and we’re so proud of all the youth who showed up, participated, and left with new skills, stories, and memories that will last a lifetime. Here’s to our youth, our culture, and a good future. ✨
