🚔 PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT 🚔

The Brownfield Police Department would like to remind all citizens to take a few simple precautions to help protect your property.
Recently, we have seen a string of vehicle burglaries throughout our community. In many of these cases, keys, cash, and other valuables were left inside unlocked vehicles and were subsequently stolen.

As summer arrives, we typically begin to see a slight increase in criminal activity. We encourage everyone to remain vigilant and take the following steps:
🔒 Lock your vehicle doors, even when parked at home.
🔒 Lock your home doors and windows.
🔑 Do not leave spare keys, key fobs, or garage door openers in your vehicle.
💰 Remove cash, fi****ms, electronics, and other valuables from your vehicle or keep them out of sight.
💡 Turn on exterior lights during the evening hours.
👀 Report suspicious activity to law enforcement immediately.

Working together, we can help keep Brownfield a safe place to live, work, and raise a family.

If you see suspicious activity, please contact the Brownfield Police Department at 806-637-2511.

Unfortunately, the Brownfield Family Aquatic Center is CLOSED today (5/26) due to the weather. Today was supposed to be our opening day, and while we are disappointed, we are also incredibly thankful for the much-needed rain our community has received. 🌧️💙

If the weather permits, we plan to OPEN TOMORROW (5/27) and can’t wait to welcome everyone for a fun and safe summer at the pool! ☀️🏊‍♀️

Thank you for your understanding and patience. Stay tuned to our page for updates!

📣UPDATE: Thanks to the assistance of our community and the review of surveillance footage, the individual responsible for the damage to the pickleball court nets at Coleman Park has been identified.

We appreciate everyone who shared information and helped us resolve this matter quickly. The City of Brownfield takes pride in maintaining our parks and recreational facilities for all residents to enjoy, and we ask everyone to continue helping us protect these community spaces from vandalism and misuse.

Thank you again for your support and cooperation.

The City of Brownfield is asking for the public’s help in identifying the juveniles responsible for damaging the pickleball court nets at Coleman Park Saturday night.

Our Parks Department works hard to provide quality recreational facilities for the community, and vandalism like this only creates unnecessary repair costs and impacts everyone who enjoys the courts.

We have surveillance footage from multiple camera locations and are currently reviewing the incident timeline. If you recognize the individuals involved or have any information that may help identify them, please contact the Brownfield Police Department or send us a private message.

All information will be kept confidential.
