Denise is a proud, long-standing resident of Hernando County since 1979. Denise grew up in Spring Hill and graduated from Central High School. She has been married to her husband, Scott, for 7 years. They live in Royal Palm Estates with their four cats and one dog. m her career with the Hernando County Supervisor of Elections as Chief Deputy. She has extensive knowledge of the local community and an unwavering commitment to facilitating a fair, transparent and accessible democratic process. In Denise’s tenure as Chief Deputy she has had the privilege of overseeing the administration of 14 elections and one recount, as well as post-election audits. Her responsibilities have spanned a range of managerial, leadership, and budgeting roles, with a particular focus on spearheading the Vote-By-Mail program in Hernando County. Denise currently holds the status of Master Florida Certified Elections Professional (MFCEP) with the Florida Supervisor of Elections through Florida State University. Her specialties include all aspects of operations, coordination, planning, training, hiring, and organizing elections. She is proficient in developing and implementing procedures for election audits, recounts, security procedures, logic and accuracy testing, and vote-by-mail, along with office policy and procedures. Beyond Denise’s professional commitments, she is an active member of several local organizations, including Kiwanis of the Adventure Coast, and the Greater Brooksville Republican Club. Denise is also a graduate and former class President of Leadership Hernando Class of 2023, and currently serves on the Steering Committee for Leadership Hernando within the Greater Hernando Chamber of Commerce. Further demonstrating her dedication to the community and her faith, Denise serves as a board member of The Way Nature Coast, and has been an active member of Crosspoint Church since 2011, where she currently volunteers on the serve team. In every aspect of Denise’s professional and personal life, she strives to contribute positively to Hernando County, using her wealth of experience and passion for public service to help shape a brighter future for the residents of Hernando County. Remaining committed to serve the voters of Hernando County, Denise’s mission is to educate voters of the electoral process and conduct every election with transparency, accuracy and integrity to achieve voter confidence through her leadership.
