Action Alert: Funding for Florida Forever Program

We are requesting that you please take a moment and contact our State Senator, Sen. Ralph Massullo, and urge him to support fully funding the Florida Forever Program. They will be voting soon! The entire Florida Legislature has reconvened to pass the final state budget. This will be our last chance to fully fund Florida Forever this year!

We need you, today if possible, to email or call Senator Massullo. His contact info is below:

Please let him know you are a member or supporter of Hernando Audubon. We are working in close partnership with Audubon of Florida on this issue.

You can use your own message or use the sample ones below. You can call his office whenever you can leave and message! Even if you already contacted him about Florida Forever in the regular session, you need to again as this budget process is different.

You can also use this weblink to email Senator Massullo and share this Florida Forever Action Alert weblink with friends and neighbors. If they bird or just love nature, they need to act!

Dear Senator Massullo,

I am a constituent in your district, and a member of Hernando Audubon Society. I am writing to strongly urge you to increase funding for Florida Forever. I appreciate the Senate’s inclusion of some funding in the proposed budget, but we must fully fund Florida Forever.

Florida is continuing to lose critical conservation lands to development, despite willing sellers and strong opportunities to protect new state parks, forests, and wildlife management areas. In your District, in the southern Nature Coast, a fully funded Florida Forever Program could conserve lands with pending purchases in Annutteliga Hammock, the Green Swamp, and could protect our region’s first magnitude springs.

This is a high-priority issue for your district, and I respectfully ask you to support full funding to ensure these opportunities are not lost. Thank you!

Sincerely, Your Name, Your Address, Your Phone Number

Please take a few minutes and do this ASAP. Hernando Audubon is standing strong for Florida Forever. For the birds, for places we bird, and for Florida's future.

Thank you,

Tom St. Clair
