โญEmpowering tomorrow's leaders through preparedness today!

The City of Brooksville was proud to participate in Day 3 of HERricane HERnando 2026, where campers gained hands-on experience in emergency preparedness, disaster response, and crisis communications.

Our City Manager, Lisa Hendrickson, served as a judge for the 5th Annual Iron Chef Emergency Cooking Competition. Public Information Coordinator Isabella Gonzalez also teamed up with Hernando County Public Information's Amy Baldwin and Reagan Brady to lead an engaging session focused on building confidence in public speaking and the importance of clear, coherent communicationโ€”skills that are essential during emergencies and in everyday leadership.

A big thank you to everyone who made this incredible program possible and to the inspiring young women who continue to lead with curiosity, confidence, and resilience. We're proud to support the next generation of leaders in our community! โญ

On Monday, June 15, 2026, the Daughters of the American Revolution - Annuttaliga Chapter and the Winding Waters Chapter accepted a proclamation at the regular council meeting recognizing the upcoming 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

This proclamation honors our nationโ€™s journey, the sacrifices of the Patriots of the American Revolution, and the enduring values of liberty, democracy, and service that continue to shape our country.

Floridaโ€™s own Revolutionary War history was recognized, including the four battles fought on Florida soil, and the important role our state played in the story of American independence.

The City of Brooksville also commended the upcoming celebration of Hernando Countyโ€™s Salute to America 250 on July 4, 2026, at the Sand Hill Scout Reservation โ€” a community event bringing together local organizations and residents to honor this historic milestone.

The Daughters of the American Revolution are proud to partner with our community as we remember the past, celebrate the present, and inspire future generations to carry forward the ideals that built our nation.

We love seeing our community come together to keep Brooksville beautiful. Thank you to the Brooksville Main Street volunteers who helped care for our downtown Adopt-A-Spot near the Courthouse!

Whether itโ€™s planting flowers, maintaining public spaces, or simply showing pride in where we live, every effort helps make our hometown shine. ๐ŸŒธ

Together, weโ€™re keeping Brooksville vibrant, welcoming, and beautiful! โœจ

๐ŸŒฟ A little weeding can make a big difference.

This week, Brooksville Main Street volunteers spent some time sprucing up our downtown Adopt-A-Spot near the Courthouse.

While many people know us for events and festivals, there's so much more happening behind the scenes to help keep our historic downtown beautiful, welcoming, and vibrant.

Community pride isn't built in a dayโ€”it's built through small acts of service, one flower bed, sidewalk, and public space at a time.

Want to make a difference in Brooksville? Consider adopting a spot of your own through the City Government of Brooksville Floridaโ€™s Adopt-A-Spot program. It's a simple way to give back and help keep our hometown looking its best.
