This is very sad news. Our deepest sympathy to Jim, their children and grandchildren, and to the Randolph Rescue Squad. Rest in peace, Betty. You will be missed.

Our hearts are heavy at the Randolph Rescue Squad tonight as we mourn the loss of longtime member Betty McConnell. Betty was a teacher before her retirement and she continued educating the township on the squad for many years, writing countless articles for the Randolph Quarterly on our behalf. Her husband, Jim, has been with the squad for over 50 years so she had been married into EMS for over a half century. Betty also represented Randolph on the NJ EMS Council and served as the head of our “Sunshine and Welfare” committee. Betty ensured that no one was ever overlooked, with every member getting a birthday or graduation card at the right time. Betty never stopped giving back and we’re all better for having known her. We send our deepest condolences to her family and ask that you keep them all in your thoughts.

Annual July 3 parade clean-up barbeque. A blessing from our chaplain, Fr. Michael Drury and words of welcome from BEC President Peter Gordon and BEC Chief John Kemp. Every year BEC #1, Ralston Engine Company #1, and Mendham Township First Aid Squad get together after we've finished cleaning all the trucks and ambulances for the big day tomorrow. Hope to see you at the parade! Brookside Community Club puts on the greatest little hometown parade around!!!
