In honor of Day in the Town this Saturday, the Vic Thomas Fish Hatchery on Radio Road will be open 10 am to 1 pm for free tours. Please take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to visit this state of the art facility.

Brookneal parade this Thursday at 7 p.m. The Christmas banners are up and the snowflakes are too! The Christmas trees are decorated in the Town Office and now all we need is for Santa to come to Town!

The Brookneal Lions Club is having a SHRIMP SALE on Friday, August 10. Extra large/jumbo North Carolina shrimp will be picked up at the dock early that morning and brought here to Brookneal for distribution from 5-7 pm. The Lions club is taking prepaid orders for the shrimp from now until August 5. The cost is $10 per pound, and extra shrimp will NOT be available for sale that day. If you are interested please like this post or contact any Brookneal Lions club member to get an order form.

Status Update

People in and around the Brookneal area. On April 28 from 10:00am until 2:00pm the Brookneal Police Department will participate in a National Take Back Initiative. This program will allow anyone who has any pharmaceutical products either prescription or over the counter that needs to be deposed of properly to have somewhere to depose them. The drop box will be in front of the Foodlion on Lusardi drive. If you have any questions please give me a call. 434-376-2650

March 24, 2012 has been designated National Cash Mob Day, and over 170 Cash Mobs will be occurring across the country and around the world. Brookneal will be joining them. We will be meeting at Guthrie's Hardware store
to support it, meet each other and have fun! We would love for you to come out and join us. Cash Mobs is a new movement aimed at supporting local businesses and rebuilding communities. A Cash Mob is a Flash Mob, but instead of singing, dancing or rioting, Cash Mobbers join together and each spend $20 at a local business. They will be open until 12 that day. please repost and share

Brookneal's Annual Christmas parade is tomorrow, December 1 at 7 pm. Don't miss it! We currently have around 60 entries including floats, bands, antique cars, and guess who will make his grand entrance at the end of the parade--Santa!!!!
