Kings Bay Library

Kings Bay Library First opened in 1951 in a Nostrand Avenue storefront, Kings Bay Library resides within a micro-neighborhood in the Sheepshead Bay area.

The Kings Bay Library is a welcoming and inclusive space for all, looking forward to serving all the residents of the micro-neighborhood in the Sheepshead Bay area and beyond. In 1959, the branch moved across the street to its current, larger home.

On Monday, June 8, 2026, the Kings Bay Library had the great pleasure of co-hosting a celebration for our friends from the Shell Bank Intermediate School 14 , Pajamas & Pages. This celebration honored the school's top readers. Students played fun reading and book games; created reading themed art; enjoyed party music, pizza and snacks; and received some giveaways from the library. Whether you're just learning to sound out letters or reading 1,000 page tomes, the Kings Bay Library is honored to play a part in everyone's literary journey.

Visit the library this summer to borrow new and exciting books; shop for $1 used books to fill out your home library; or receive a free book when you sign up for Summer Reading. (Free books and Summer Reading is available for Kids, Teens, and Adults. Free Books and Summer Reading merch is available on a first come, first serve basis.)
