Located on the western Wall of Maimonides/Cyclones Park, the Wall of Remembrance is comprised of 3 panels, each with its own set of bronze reliefs, and the laser engrave portraits of the firefighters, law enforcement officers and uniformed volunteer responders who died on 9/11, responding to the attack.

Heroes Night- this year remembering the women of 9/11- the heroes on our wall, the responders, the families, the vollies, the survivors.

And one of our working K-9s from our donation program will be visiting us that night! It's sure to be a wonderful night. Our 17th Heroes Night. And this is the 25th year, remembering 9/11

Hard to talk about that day.I think we felt it was unfinished. We didn't bring everyone home. Too many families never found the ones they lost. And we were losing a community, a space with people who survived, who responded, who looked out for one another. We all cried so much. We all hoped for so much. We said too many goodbyes. And yet- 24 years later we still meet, we still care for one another, we remember.

Too often we forget the enormous sacrifice of our soldiers and their families. Too often we don't count the cost and celebrate Memorial Day as a holiday, instead of the remembrance day it. The Memorial Day sales, the hotdogs on the grill, the parades and flags- - we must never forget the true meaning of Memorial Day.
