Great news! The office of Council Member Charles Barron is excited to inform you that many members of our district will become eligible for Medicare cost saving programs in 2023!

As of January 1, 2023, the Medicare Savings Program (MSP) is significantly expanding its income eligibility limits for the first time in State history. The MSP helps pay Medicare premiums and lowers prescription drug costs for Medicare beneficiaries. On average, a person on the MSP can save around $7,000 annually in Medicare costs. Census data shows that this expansion will make an additional 300,000 New Yorkers eligible for this vital benefit!

The Medicare Rights Center can provide direct assistance with the application process for those who may be eligible. Feel free to reach out to us with any questions.
