The LeBron Brothers grew up right here in Williamsburg, where they began making music together as young brothers. What started in their neighborhood eventually became an international musical career.

The Puerto Rican-born musicians went on to record 16 albums, tour around the world, and become known for their unique mix of salsa, Latin rhythms, soul, and R&B. Join us on Sunday, October 4 as we honor the LeBron Brothers and their lasting connection to Williamsburg with a street co-naming ceremony.

Oct 4 | Ceremony begins at 1:00 PM | Bushwick Ave & Stagg St

Come celebrate their music and legacy with us!

Today marks 25 years since September 11th.

We remember the thousands of lives lost and honor the first responders and countless others who showed incredible courage and made the ultimate sacrifice. We also stand with the families and loved ones who continue to carry their loss.

Earlier this week, I had the honor of visiting the 9/11 Memorial with my colleagues in the Council. Being there was a powerful reminder that 25 years may have passed, but the memories and the people we lost will never be forgotten.

We will always remember. We will always honor.

Community Board meetings are back from summer recess! Last night, I shared updates on the Metropolitan Recreation Center, highlighted recent legislation updates like the Doula Bill of Rights (Int. 200) and Sunday Nightlife Trash Pickup (Int. 970), and talked about upcoming Trash Force events.

I also encouraged folks to share feedback through DOT’s survey on the proposed one-way conversion of Grand St and Metropolitan Ave. Your input matters, find the link in my bio and check out my latest post for a breakdown of what’s being studied and community concerns.

Caption for Grand x Metro Post: Grand Street and Metropolitan Avenue are essential corridors for commuting and traveling through the district, and any potential changes should reflect the needs of the people who use them every day.

NYC DOT is studying the feasibility of converting Grand Street to one-way eastbound and Metropolitan Avenue to one-way westbound between Union Avenue and the Metropolitan Avenue Bridge.

We’ve been working with residents, businesses, and community partners to understand the needs of the corridor.

We want to hear from you.

Take the survey, use the feedback map, share your experience and ideas. Links in bio!

No final decisions have been made. Your input matters.
