We are excited to offer both Morning Mix and Fusion this school year at the Zanewood Recreation Center. Both offerings begin September 8 and have flexible scheduling offerings. Read more below and get signed up today!

Morning Mix: September 8 - June 10 | 6-9:00 a.m.

Start your child's day with Morning Mix at Zanewood Recreation Center! Our before school program operates Monday through Friday from 6:00–9:00 AM, providing a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for youth before the school day begins.

Children will enjoy a variety of age appropriate activities, including games, arts and crafts, group activities, quiet enrichment opportunities, and time to socialize with friends. Whether they're creating, playing, or simply easing into the morning at their own pace. Morning Mix helps children start each day feeling confident, energized, and ready to learn.

Breakfast is also available to help students begin their morning fueled and ready for success.

Fusion K–5: September 8 - June 10 | 4 - 6 p.m.

Join us for an exciting and engaging afterschool experience! Fusion is designed for youth in grades K–5 and provides a safe, welcoming environment where children can learn, grow, and have fun after the school day.

Our program is built around creating meaningful experiences that encourage creativity, teamwork, leadership, and personal growth. Participants will enjoy a variety of enriching activities, including:

Hands-on Learning & STEM Activities
Team Building & Leadership Opportunities
Homework Support
Group Games & Special Events

Free Meals for All Youth 18 Years & Under

Our Sewing 101 class will leave you in stitches, in the best way possible!

Ready to learn a fun, lifelong skill? Whether you’ve never touched a sewing machine or just want to brush up on your skills, this class is designed for YOU. No experience needed, and we’ve got all the supplies covered! We even have sewing machines on site (but feel free to bring your own if you prefer).

Scholarships and fee assistance are available because everyone deserves a chance to get creative!

When: Mondays, September 14 – November 2 | 6–8 p.m.

Fall Walking Group - Exploring Brooklyn Park!

Walk, talk, learn, and build connections – one step at a time! Join the BP Walking Group, a community program to promote health, wellness, and social connections through the simple act of walking. This group will meet every other week for an instructor-led walk and introduce participants to a the beauty within Brooklyn Park each week.

Each session will include a health/wellness topic, pre-walk stretch, and group walk at your own pace. This program is open to all fitness / activity levels and aims to create an inclusive, supportive environment where participants can enjoy the benefits of being active together! Wear walking shoes, bring a water bottle, and dress for the weather. In the case of inclement weather, the group will meet inside the Community Activity Center.

COSA Fest 2026 is a celebration of culture, community, and connection for everyone. As Brooklyn Park and Brooklyn Center are home to one of the largest Southeast Asian communities in Minnesota, this festival is an opportunity to honor the traditions, stories, music, food, and contributions of Southeast Asian families while bringing together people from all backgrounds to celebrate the diversity that makes our communities strong.

COSA Fest will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026 from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Mississippi Gateway Regional Park (10360 W River Rd, Brooklyn Park, MN 55444)

COSA Fest Overflow Parking!
Overflow Parking & Shuttle Information

Once the parking lot at Mississippi Gateway Regional Park is full, overflow parking will be available at the Highway 610 & Noble Parkway Park & Ride (4401 95th Ave N, Brooklyn Park, MN 55443).

A bus labeled "OurBus" will provide free transportation to and from Mississippi Gateway Regional Park every 10–15 minutes. Shuttle service provided from 1–7 p.m.

Please use the overflow parking and shuttle once the park parking lot reaches capacity. We look forward to seeing you!

Travel east on Highway 610 toward Brooklyn Park.
Take the Noble Parkway exit.

Follow 95th Avenue N to the entrance of the Highway 610 & Noble Parkway Park & Ride. The facility is accessed from 95th Avenue N.

Coming Westbound on Highway 610
Travel west on Highway 610 toward Brooklyn Park.
Take the Noble Parkway exit.
Turn right (north) onto Noble Parkway.
Turn left onto 95th Avenue N.
Follow 95th Avenue N to the entrance of the Highway 610 & Noble Parkway Park & Ride.
