Bayard Rustin (1912–1987) was a civil rights strategist, organizer, and openly gay activist. He attended Wilberforce University and studied at Cheyney State Teachers College. Rustin was a key advisor to Martin Luther King Jr. and a chief organizer of the 1963 March on Washington. He advocated nonviolent resistance, labor rights, and racial justice while facing discrimination due to his sexuality. Rustin also worked for LGBTQ+ dignity, linking civil rights and q***r liberation in ways ahead of his time.

Migraines don’t just affect women.

Migraines affect people of all genders and ages. Research shows that migraine affects roughly 1 in 5 women and about 1 in 15 men. Men can experience the same symptoms as women but may be less likely to seek diagnosis or treatment. Children can also have migraines, often with shorter attacks and symptoms such as nausea, stomach pain, or sensitivity to light and sound.

Barbara Gittings (1932–2007) was a LGBTQIA+ activist and pioneer in the gay rights movement. She attended Northwestern University and dedicated her life to activism, education, and public advocacy. Gittings organized some of the earliest gay rights demonstrations in the United States and worked closely with the American Library Association to improve LGBTQ+ representation in literature. She helped challenge censorship and stigma, promoting visibility and acceptance of q***r identities at a time of widespread discrimination.

Don't skip the SPF! Make sure you use broad-spectrum protection that is at least 30 SPF or higher. Look for water-resistant formulas. Apply sunscreen 15 minutes before heading outdoors and be sure to reapply every 2 hours or more often when swimming or sweating. Don't miss your ears, the back of your neck, tops of your feet, and your scalp.
