Tomorrow is Election Day.

Before the signs come down and the votes are counted, I simply want to say thank you.

Over the past weeks and months, I have had the privilege of visiting with so many of you at your doors, community events, coffee shops, kids activities, and everywhere in between. I have listened to your concerns, heard your hopes for our community, and been reminded once again why I care so deeply about public service.

I believe what makes me different is that I lead thoughtfully. I listen first. I do the homework. I ask hard questions. I take time to understand issues before making decisions and I work to bring people together, even when challenges are difficult. I have done that while still maintaining respect and decorum.

This past legislative session was not always easy, but I stayed focused on the work. I was not swept up in the current of politics, populism, or campaigns, but remained grounded in representing District 7.

I bring to the table experience in healthcare leadership, local government, education, and the legislature, but more importantly, I bring heart, humility, and a deep commitment to representing our district with integrity.

There has not been one moment I forgot who I work for or a single minute that I took for granted. It has truly been the honor of a lifetime to serve District 7.

I humble ask for your vote tomorrow.

Thank you for all of the support and kind words. I humble ask for your vote on June 2nd.

I have had some great conversations with constituents over the last few weeks! I appreciate people taking the time to share their thoughts and concerns with me. It is a great way to keep me grounded and connected into what matters most to District 7. Thank you for all of the kind words and support. I am so grateful!

I have one favor to ask. This vote on June 2nd is important for a lot of reasons and is only 6 days away. I would ask that you make a plan to either early vote or to vote on Election Day. Your vote matters! Every time!

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to attend the Brookings Optimist Club’s Law Enforcement Appreciation Breakfast alongside fellow community leaders, where we recognized and thanked the men and women who serve and protect our communities each day.

It was especially meaningful to celebrate Officer Seth Bonnema for his outstanding dedication and service. Public safety is built on the commitment, professionalism, and character of individuals willing to step forward and serve others — often in difficult situations and under tremendous pressure.

Thank you to the Brookings Optimist Club for continuing this important tradition, and to States Attorney Dan Nelson for helping lead the effort to recognize these outstanding individuals.

We are grateful for the law enforcement officers, first responders, and public safety professionals who work every day to keep our families and communities safe.
