South Country Ambulance would like to congratulate Brett Dobert as he begins an exciting new chapter in his medical career by attending SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse.

For the past two years, Brett has been an integral member of our Wednesday night team, demonstrating dedication, professionalism, and a strong commitment to serving our community. While he will certainly be missed, we are incredibly proud of his accomplishments and excited to see all that he will achieve in medical school and beyond.

We wish Brett the very best of luck and look forward to following his journey and celebrating his continued success.

Good luck, Brett!

At 12:13hrs South Country Ambulance was dispatched to a vehicle versus pedestrian incident. The patient suffered severe injuries and it was determined that a Level 1 Trauma Center was best for her care. Working alongside us were the Suffolk County Police Department, Stony Brook Flight Medics and the Bellport Fire Department. A LZ (landing zone) was established at the Bellport Middle School and the patient was flown to Stony Brook University Hospital for evaluation. Great work to all involved.

D-Day: June 6, 1944

More than 160,000 Allied troops stormed the beaches of Normandy, France to liberate Europe. The invasion was one of the largest amphibious military assaults in history. May we never forget the courage and sacrifice of the over 4,000 men who died there and the thousands more who were injured.

This morning, our department gathered in Brookhaven and Bellport to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage and selflessness helped secure the freedoms we enjoy each and every day.

Despite the rainy weather, it was inspiring to see such a strong turnout from our community at both parades. We will always remember and honor the sacrifices made by those who gave their lives defending our nation. Today, our thoughts and prayers remain with our fallen heroes and their families.

Great job to Brookhaven Fire Department and VFW Post 8300 for organizing the parades and ceremonies today.
