Next week, our branding consultants from North Star Ideas will be in town conducting research as we kick off the Village Branding and Identity Initiative – and you can be directly involved!

First, we still have several openings for 1-on-1 interviews with members of our team during the day on Tuesday, June 16; Wednesday, June 17; and Thursday, June 18. All interviews are held in person at Village Hall.

Traffic is open on 31st Street in both directions. Eastbound traffic is limited to one lane at this time.

Brookfield emergency personnel have responded to a vehicle vs. pedestrian crash in the 8800 block of 31st Street.

Traffic on 31st Street is closed between Prairie Avenue and Golfview Avenue at this time. Please avoid the area.

Public works crews are around the Village addressing storm damage needing immediate attention, such as clearing road blockages. They will return tomorrow morning to remove smaller debris from parkways.

**TRAFFIC ALERT - WASHINGTON AVENUE CLOSED BETWEEN McCORMICK AND ROSEMEAR**

The strong storm that has blown through the Village has resulted in storm damage, including one fallen tree which is blocking Washington Avenue between Rosemear and McCormick. Please avoid the area at this time.

We will update when the roadway is clear.

**TRAFFIC ALERT - GOLF ROAD CLOSURE**

The Village of Riverside has issued a closure notice for Golf Road today. Please see below for more details.

Please be advised of the following roadway closures and emergency work occurring today:

- West Quincy Street will be closed this morning between South Forbes Road and the Brookfield alley for a water main repair.
- Golf Road, between Ridgewood Road and Parkview Road, will be closed this morning for an emergency tree removal.
- Later today, Golf Road, between Ridgewood Road and Parkview Road, will also require a closure for a water main repair. Depending on the timing of the tree removal, the roadway may remain closed continuously to accommodate the repair work.
- A second emergency tree removal will take place later today at 292 Nuttall Road. Motorists should expect intermittent road closures in the area of the Nuttall Road and Selborne Road intersection during the work.

Please use alternate routes and exercise caution when traveling near these work zones. We appreciate your patience and cooperation.

With BNSF beginning a grade crossing improvement project on June 11 at Hollywood Avenue, requiring it to remain completely closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic, Metra has announced, for safety reasons, to temporarily close the station and stop Metra service. Metra has sent the following alert to commuters:

"Beginning Thursday, June 11 through Sunday, June 21, the Hollywood/Zoo station will close due to road construction. Passengers must board trains at Brookfield or Riverside."

Commuter questions can be directed to Metra Passenger Services at 312-322-6777.

The Soldier Ride multi-day event helps veterans regain strength and confidence through shared physical challenges and the bonds of service in a supportive, uplifting environment.
