🎉 Thank You for Celebrating Maple South Park! 🌳

A big thank you to everyone who came out to the Maple South Park ribbon-cutting on Thursday afternoon! We had a great turnout, with people of all ages joining us to celebrate the park’s improvements.

And it looks like the kids had a great time putting the new playgrounds, swings and slides to the test! 🛝

Of course, everyone also enjoyed the free ice cream from The Jolly Sprinkle. 🍦

Now that the park is officially open, take the kids over to Maple South Park anytime and enjoy all it has to offer!

MAPLE AVENUE STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT UPDATE – SATURDAY PAVING OPERATIONS

The Maple Avenue Street Improvement Project is moving quickly, and the contractor is ready to begin milling the asphalt roadway surface from Veterans Circle to Brookfield Avenue.

In order to minimize the impact on school and rush hour traffic, particularly near S.E. Gross Middle School, the contractor intends to work a handful of Saturdays over the course of the next two months in order to complete the resurfacing work.

Tomorrow morning, Sept. 12, the contractor will begin milling the pavement from the Circle moving south so they can get past the school area. They plan to start very early, around 6 a.m., to impact traffic as little as possible.

They will maintain two-way traffic with flaggers, but delays should be expected while the work is being completed. Whatever they do not finish for the south half will be completed on Monday, Sept. 14.
They anticipate installing the first layer of asphalt on the south half the following Saturday, Sept. 17.

In early October the contractor will likely be working multiple Saturdays to install the final layer of asphalt on the south side and complete the milling and first layer of asphalt from the Circle to 31st Street.

We will provide additional information in the coming weeks as we obtain more information on work scheduling.

Thank you for your patience as we complete this important infrastructure project.

🚧 Traffic Alert: Sewer Inspection on Ridgewood Road & Washington Avenue

The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago will be inspecting an intercepting sewer along Ridgewood Road in Riverside and Washington Avenue in Brookfield beginning Tuesday, Sept. 15, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The work will require portions of the roadways to be blocked to access two manholes:
• North side of Ridgewood Road, in front of Riverside-Brookfield High School
• Eastbound left-turn lane of Washington Avenue at Golf Road

🚗 Two-way traffic will be maintained at all times, but lanes will be shifted to accommodate vehicles. Please expect slower traffic through these areas and use an alternate route if possible.

Traffic control devices will be removed each day when the inspection is not underway.
