Today Running Rebels was honored to be part of a special ribbon-cutting ceremony at Meaux Park, hosted by the Milwaukee Parks Foundation and the Pat Connaughton Foundation 🎉 They unveiled the park's newly revitalized basketball courts, thanks to a $200,000 gift from the Pat Connaughton Foundation and Ted and Mary Kellner and the Kelben Foundation.

These essential upgrades, including new asphalt, rims, nets, backboards, and improved fencing, will be a gamechanger for Milwaukee's long-running Warning basketball league this summer, spearheaded by Running Rebels🏀🔥

Thank you for this incredible investment in the future of this city's young people!

Friday in Madison, Forward Community Investments (FCI) and Wisconsin Philanthropy Network (WPN) launched the Dane County Diverse Business Guaranty Fund.

The fund supports FCI’s new Small Business Lending Program. This collaboration, supported by six WPN member organizations aims to utilize the power of impact investing to create opportunities for BIPOC businesses in the Dane County area who are often challenged to access capital to grow or stabilize their business.

FCI and WPN are proud and grateful to partner with • Alliant Energy Foundation, American Family Insurance, Kids Forward Foundation, Madison Community Foundation, Schlecht Family Foundation, and UW Health, who collaborated to sourced $1M to launch the project. Loans made with support from The Fund strive to build wealth in communities of color, grow opportunities for BIPOC entrepreneurs, and generally improve the financial infrastructure surrounding Dane County’s BIPOC business community.

Impact investing gives WPN member organizations an opportunity to advance their commitment to community beyond grantmaking. This collaborative of Dane County funders invested a portion of their combined assets to address the funding gap too often experienced by BIPOC entrepreneurs. Working with FCI, we hope to replicate this model in communities across Wisconsin.
