Until further notice, absolutely NO OUTSIDE BURNING IS ALLOWED. This includes fire pits, camp fires and other outdoor fires.

Please heed these warnings. We have had several calls about residents burning brush and having bonfires. During this time of severe dry weather any type of burning is not permitted. One small spark could do more damage than you realize.

We have no rain in the radar until November. So please, do not burn brush or even have a small bonfire.

PRESS RELEASE

The Brookfield Volunteer Fire Company announces the promotion of two department members to fill officer vacancies left by the recent retirement of Fire Chief Andrew Ellis. These promotions were effective September 22, 2024. Chief Ellis retired on September 22, 2024 to focus on family, his career and education. Chief Ellis will still be an active member in the department as a driver, firefighter and EMT.

Assistant Chief Derek Broadmeyer has been promoted to the Rank Interim Fire Chief. Chief Broadmeyer is a 14-year veteran of the department and served as an Assistant Chief since 2021.

Captain Eric Kettunen has been promoted to the rank of Interim Assistant Chief. Assistant Chief Kettunen has served 15 years with the Brookfield Volunteer Fire Company and has been a line officer since 2012. Eric had previously been promoted to Captain in 2023.

The Officers and Members would like to thank Chief Ellis for his dedication and service to the Town of Brookfield and his continued support of the BVFC.
