Ellie, Grady, and Liam served up a batch of AWESOME lemonade to some of our Red Day shift officers to go with the amazing weather today. It was ice cold, expertly-mixed, not too sweet - just perfect.

Do we even remember what snow looks like anymore? Does anyone miss it?

The checkpoint will also be held in conjunction with nearby saturation patrols to combat impaired driver-related injury and fatal crashes. If you plan to consume alcohol, there is no excuse for driving - designate a driver or make other travel arrangements beforehand. Don't let another life be lost for the senseless and selfish act of getting behind the wheel impaired.

If you're reading this, then surely you've been inundated with facebook updates about some snow storm that's supposed to come in tonight.

We will update you with necessary information and will try not to clog your feed otherwise. We'll just leave these points here for now:

(1) A parking ban takes effect when more than two inches of snow falls. Accordng to forecasts, that's going to happen like the first ten minutes of this storm. Vehicles in the street will be ticketed at the least, impounded or buried. Let's get the vehicles out of the streets now.

(2) Our top-notch Service Department plow crews will be overwhelmed. Please avoid any non-essential travel. Roads will be treacherous. We don't want you to end up on an accident report, or even worse, injured. Watch some YouTube videos of Caribbean beaches or something.

(3) Let's help our elderly and infirm neighbors when possible. Check on them, clean their driveways and porch steps, and come together as a team.

(4) Safety Forces will have a rough go getting to everyone. Let's reduce any tomfoolery by avoiding travel and not fighting or stealing. We want to be able to get to the emergencies where we're really needed.

See y'all Monday!
