Today, Clerk of Court Matt Brooks and I were blessed to speak with the TNT seniors of First Baptist Church of Chiefland and share with them beneficial information concerning the different exemptions that we offer for our seniors and the Clerk’s program to alert property owners of potential property fraud. Good Morning!

The Homestead option has been resolved and is now available online. If you are married and your spouse’s name is not on the deed, both of you will still need to file for the homestead.

If you received a homestead exemption within the last 3 years at a different Florida address, you will need to file an additional form DR-501T

Please remember to upload all required documentation:

Driver’s License
Voter ID
Vehicle Registration
Social Security Number
Utility Bill
Failure to provide all required documents may result in a delayed or denied application.

Good morning! Today we will focus on the seniors exemption

🚨 The Limited Income Senior Exemption.

This is an additional exemption for residents age 65 and older who do not meet state income maximum income.

Requirements are as follows:
Must be 65 years or older on or by January 1 2026

Adjusted gross household income cannot exceed $37,694

MUST provide a copy of prior years Federal Income tax return, if filed, and include any 1099’s from Social Security

Today we will focus on the Disability Exemption.
This exemption provides qualified applicants with up to a $5000 reduction in taxable value on ONE property they own.

*Must provide a physician’s Certificate from a Florida licensed doctor or documentation from the Social Security Administration.
