🐾 LOST PET? DON’T PANIC — THE FIRST 24 HOURS MATTER! 🐾

When a beloved pet goes missing, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. But acting quickly can make a BIG difference in getting them home safely. ❤️

🔎 START SEARCHING RIGHT AWAY
Check your home, yard, nearby streets, favorite hiding spots, and places your pet may have visited before.

🏠 ASK YOUR NEIGHBORS TO HELP
Have them check garages, sheds, porches, vehicles, and fenced areas. A frightened pet may be hiding somewhere close by.

📸 POST A CLEAR PHOTO
Use a recent photo and include your pet’s name, description, where they were last seen, and a reliable contact number.

📱 CONTACT YOUR LOCAL ANIMAL CONTROL & SHELTERS
File a lost-pet report and check regularly. Found animals may not be reported immediately.

🏷️ CHECK IDENTIFICATION
Make sure your pet’s collar and tags are current. If your pet is microchipped, verify that your contact information is up to date.

🚗 DON’T CHASE A FRIGHTENED PET
If you spot your pet but they are scared or running, chasing them can cause them to run farther. Stay calm and try to encourage them toward you safely.

❤️ DON’T GIVE UP!
Pets can sometimes be found days—or even weeks—after going missing. Keep searching, keep sharing, and keep checking with local shelters and Animal Control.

A few minutes of preparation NOW can make finding your pet much easier later.
📌 Keep your pet’s photo, microchip information, and current contact information somewhere easy to access.

🐶🐱 Microchip. Collar. ID tag. Current information.
These simple steps can help bring a lost pet home.

🚗🐾 HOT CARS: A FEW MINUTES CAN CHANGE EVERYTHING

☀️ “I’ll only be a minute.”

We’ve all heard it—but for a pet sitting in a parked vehicle, those few minutes can become an emergency.

🌡️ A vehicle can heat up dangerously fast, even when the temperature outside doesn’t seem extreme. Cracking the windows does not make a hot car safe.

🐶🐱 Some pets are especially vulnerable:
• Flat-faced breeds like Bulldogs, Pugs, French Bulldogs & Persian cats
• Puppies, kittens & senior pets
• Thick-coated or long-haired breeds
• Overweight pets
• Pets with breathing, heart or other health problems
• Small animals that can overheat quickly

🚨 Watch for signs of heat distress:
Heavy or excessive panting • drooling • weakness • vomiting • confusion • stumbling • collapse

❤️ If you see an animal in a hot vehicle that appears to be in distress, take it seriously and contact local authorities or Animal Control for guidance.

And please remember: your pet doesn’t understand that you’ll be right back. They only know that they’re getting hotter.

🐾 When it’s hot outside, leave them home where they’re safe and comfortable.

Be their voice. Be their advocate. Be the reason they make it home. ❤️🐾
