Today, members of the Broken Bow Fire Department and Hochatown Fire Department came together for a 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb in honor of the 343 firefighters who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.

Each step was taken in remembrance of the firefighters who climbed into danger that morning—answering the call, helping others, and making the ultimate sacrifice.

Twenty-five years later, we remember their courage, their service, and their sacrifice. We also remember all those whose lives were lost and forever changed that day.

Thank you to our Broken Bow and Hochatown firefighters for taking the time today to honor their fallen brothers and sisters.

Once again, our community showed just how generous Broken Bow can be!

During this year’s annual Broken Bow Fire Department Boot Drive for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA), our firefighters collected an incredible $8,715.02! ❤️
Setting a new record!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who stopped, donated, dropped some change in a boot, or gave a few dollars to help support this great cause. Every donation added up, and together our community made this year’s Boot Drive an even bigger success.

We are incredibly grateful for the continued generosity and support of our community. Broken Bow, you showed up once again! ❤️🚒

🏈 Getting Ready for Friday Night! 🚒🚧

Teamwork isn’t just for the football field!

With construction underway at the football field, our Street Department and Fire Department came together to help get the parking lot ready for Friday night’s game.

We appreciate our crews pitching in wherever they’re needed to help make sure things are ready for our community, students, families, and fans.

Thank you to both departments for the teamwork and for always being willing to lend a hand! 👏

September Fire Department Report 🚒

Here’s a snapshot of the calls and activity from September.

🔥 Fire Safety Fact: Every household should have a home fire escape plan. The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) recommends having two ways out of every room, when possible, and practicing your escape plan with everyone in the household.

We’re thankful for our firefighters who work around the clock to protect and serve the Broken Bow community.

City crews are aware of a water leak on Wake Street.

🚧 REPAIRS WILL BEGIN ONCE ALL REQUIRED UTILITY LOCATES ARE COMPLETE.

⚠️ Please watch for crews and equipment in the area and use an alternate route if possible.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while we work to get the leak repaired as quickly and safely as possible.
