Are you ready to have a fun filled and music packed summer evening? Bring your blankets and lawn chairs and settle in for live music under the open sky.

Music starts at 6 PM at Veterans Park today, Sunday, June 21st— come early to find your perfect spot. Tonight will be showcasing String Bluegrass, Country, and Folk with pulled pork sandwiches, hot dogs, chips, water, and a sweet treat provided by the Western Rock county ATV Club!

Hey, Brodhead! You are invited to the Swing & Wings Vintage Hangar Dance!

The Kelch Aviation Museum is hosting a vintage hangar dance, today, Saturday, June 20th, from 5:30 pm to 10 pm. If you want to be whisked back in time to the 1930s and 1940s, come join the flurry of sights, sounds, and dancing to the sweet swinging songs of the Era!

There will be live music from the Waunakee Big Band, themed drinks (non-alcoholic), delicious food available from the Ding-A-Ling food truck, a 1940s style dance class and dance contest, a costume contest, and raffles for amazing local goods and aviation adventures!

Every ticket purchase supports the museum nonprofit's mission of sharing the joy and science of aviation with one and all. Tickets are $35 at the door. Children's tickets are only $15 and veterans & first responders can buy tickets for $25 each.

📚Good morning, Brodhead! Today is Fun Fact Friday! 📖

Did you know that the world’s largest music festival is held annually in Milwaukee, WI?

Every year, Wisconsin’s Summerfest is hosted at Henry Maier Festival Park along Lake Michigan. The festival is known for spanning multiple days and featuring hundreds of artists across dozens of genres. They also showcase art installations, comedy acts, fireworks, shopping areas, and family activities to make it fun for everyone. It has been held every year since 1968 – that’s more than fifty years!

📢 Brodhead Basics— Public Nuisances Part 1 📢

A public nuisance is anything that endangers public health, safety, comfort, morals, or the use of public spaces.

Examples include:
• Trash piles or stagnant water that attract insects or vermin
• Noxious weeds or overgrowth
• Air or water pollution
• Animals running at large
• Dangerous or dilapidated buildings
• Obstructed sidewalks/streets
• Noisy animals or music
• Illegal alcohol or gambling activity

If a nuisance is found or reported, the City will investigate. A Notice will be posted and sent to the property owner, giving them anywhere from 24 hours to 7 days to fix the issue depending on severity. If it isn’t corrected in the allotted time, depending on the circumstances, the City can issue an abatement, citation, seek a court order, or come in and remove the nuisance and bill the responsible party.

The City of Brodhead's ordinances are put in place to keep our community safe, healthy, and enjoyable for everyone.
