Thank you to everyone who joined us at City Hall Plaza this morning for our annual September 11 Commemoration Ceremony.

As this year marks 25 years since 2001, we gather as a community to honor the lives lost, pay tribute to the incredible courage of our first responders, and reaffirm our commitment to supporting one another.

We extend our deep gratitude to all who attended and helped make today’s ceremony a meaningful moment of reflection for the City of Brockton.

💦💦💦💦The Brockton Utilities Division will conduct a water main flushing program starting September 14, 2026 and continue through October 1, 2026. The majority of the work will be done between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m. 💦💦💦💦

To see the schedule, visit: https://brockton.gov/city-departments/public-works/water-main-flushing-map/

The activity will cause discolored water in varying degrees in all sections of the city. Persons who experience water discoloration should clear their water systems by opening the cold water faucet for several minutes and then wait about an hour. If water is still not clear, they should repeat the flushing procedure. Every effort will be made to keep inconvenience to the users at a minimum.

Notice is hereby given that starting Monday, September 14, 2026 the areas to be flushed are the streets starting at Court Street, north to East Ashland Street, N. Montello Street, east to the
Abington line, and all streets in between. The flushing will take place between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m.

What a great summer in Brockton!

We had 252 young people join us for our 2026 Brockton After Dark summer program!

Our youth stayed active all evening long with a full lineup of 100% free summer activities, including:

🎾 Tennis
🏊‍♂️ Swimming
⚽ Soccer
🏈 Flag football
🎭 Drama

Participants also refueled with a free summer meal provided through the Summer Eats program.

A huge thank you to our 2026 Brockton After Dark staff for leading these activities, the parents and families for supporting their kids, and our incredible young people whose energy made this summer program such a huge success! 👏
