Multi-Company Training - Rural Hitch Operations

Last night, members from multiple Lee County agencies and some of their Auto/Mutual-Aid partners got together at CCCC Fire & Rescue for a quarterly training exercise focused on rural hitch operations.

The training focused on the idea of establishing and maintaining a continuous water supply in areas without hydrants or where a large volume of water could be needed through the use of tanker/tender operations, dump site management, and a coordinated fill site.

Thank you to the leadership team that put this together as well as the experience/knowledge provided by those at Southern Pines Fire & Rescue & Cypress Pointe Fire & Rescue for making this successful.

Our community is what makes us who we are, and we’re reminded of that every day.

Thank you all for the continued support. We especially want to recognize Baptist Chapel Church & Holly Springs Baptist Church. The local WMUs took the time to send their appreciation, stopped by the station for a quick visit, and even got a brief fire safety lesson!

Those small gestures go a long way, and they truly mean a lot to our members. We’re proud to serve a community like this.

🚨 PSA: Burn Ban Lifted 🚨

As of 8:00 AM today, the burn ban for Lee County has been lifted per the Lee County Fire Marshal and NC Forest Service.

While open burning is now allowed, conditions can still change quickly. Please use caution and burn responsibly.

Quick reminders:
• Never leave a fire unattended
• Keep a water source or hose nearby
• Avoid burning on windy days
• Fully extinguish all fires before leaving

If your fire gets out of control, call 911 immediately.

Great day of training!

🚨 4 DAYS | 4 FIRES 🚨
🔥 THIS IS WHY THE BURN BAN MATTERS 🔥

Over the past four days, our crews have responded to four separate fires across our district, affecting over 60 acres. We’re proud of the continued effort our members have put in, along with the strong teamwork alongside the N.C. Forest Service to get these fires contained quickly and safely.

The burn ban is in place for a reason. Please hold off on any outdoor burning until conditions improve.

Do your part to help prevent the next call.

Thanks to everyone who came out to see us at Broadway Our Way!

Whether you came to just check out Engine 54, talk to someone at our booth, or just hangout in the cooling station, we were happy to see all the smiling faces as everyone walked through town and enjoyed the event!

This year's public safety theme was children's safety; we had the hot cars sign on display, the booster seat display, and handed out all kinds of information to try to keep you and your little ones safer. A huge thank you to Safe Kids Mid-Carolinas Region for all your help!
